ALL AGES EVENT

A rambunctious indie pop band with a humorous bent, England's Lovejoy is led by Wilbur Soot, a popular Internet personality, game streamer, and musician. The group debuted in 2021 with the EPs Are You Alright? and Pebble Brain, the latter of which enjoyed chart success throughout the U.K. and Europe. They again hit the U.K. and U.S. charts with 2023's Wake Up & It's Over.

Soot, whose given name is Will Gold, gained attention in the late 2010s through his popular video channels, which included comedic reaction videos, discussions of memes, and video game streaming. Also a singer and songwriter, he released a handful of humorous solo songs, most notably 2020's "Your New Boyfriend," which bothered a couple of charts in the U.K. and Ireland. He formed the four-piece indie band Lovejoy at the beginning of 2021. In May of that year, they released their debut EP, Are You Alright?, a blend of energetic 2000s-inspired indie pop and quirky comedy rock. The group issued a second EP, Pebble Brain, in October 2021, and it found its way onto a number of European charts, hitting 12 in the U.K. and even making the Billboard 200 in the U.S.

A surprise EP, From Studio 4, appeared in April 2023 as a thank you to fans and featured acoustic versions of songs off Lovejoy's first EP. They returned quickly that May with a third proper EP, the Mark Crew- and Dan Priddy-produced Wake Up & It's Over. Included on the release was the single "Call Me What You Like," which hit number 32 on the U.K. Singles Chart and 24 on Billboard's Alternative Airplay chart.
