FM 102/1 presents
Rainbow Kitten Surprise
with Caroline Rose

Tuesday, October 16, 2018 (23 Days Away)
Show scheduled to start at 8pm

Rainbow Kitten Surprise and all five of its members hail from the mountains of Boone, North Carolina. With chilling harmonies, dynamic instrumentation, and introspective lyrics, their genre-defying sound takes influence from artists like Modest Mouse and Kings of Leon as much as Frank Ocean and Schoolboy Q.  Independently, they have over 75 million streams across digital platforms, and notched over 45 sold out shows on their first U.S. headline tour.  Their engaging and distinct live performances have led to stand out sets at festivals such as Bonnaroo, Firefly, Shaky Knees, Hangout, Sasquatch, and Austin City Limits among others.  The band worked with GRAMMY award-winning producer Jay Joyce (Cage The Elephant, Sleeper Agent) on their Elektra debut, How to: Friend, Love, Freefall, available everywhere on April 6th.

Rainbow Kitten Surprise has announced the addition of 24 dates to their sold out North American "FRIEND, LOVE, FREEFALL TOUR." The announcement comes as RKS closes out an historic Spring tour featuring 36 sold out shows.

The tour will continue to support RKS's critically acclaimed "HOW TO: FRIEND, LOVE, FREEFALL" LP, released in April as their debut on Elektra Records and amassing nearly 3 million streams in its first week alone. NPR lauded the release as "earnest, beautiful, political, loving rock n’ roll," while VICE proclaimed of their video for the track 'HIDE,' "this North Carolina band made the most moving music video of the year... the song and video serve as a resounding refusal for anyone, queer or otherwise, to stay hidden."
